Frequently Asked Questions

1. What's the difference between coaching & therapy?

Therapists and counselors focus on helping you understand the "why" of the past through the present, and coaches focus on helping you with the "what" and "how" of the present to create the future you desire. While therapists and mental health counselors deal with a patient’s mental conditions and processing trauma, a coach never addresses these issues. The role of a coach is to encourage clients to self-reflect, plan for the future through goal-setting, create step-by-step plans for achieving goals, and develop important skills where needed.

Coaching has a very practical focus on helping clients identify and accomplish goals that increase quality of life in areas such as work-related challenges, academic and college support, social and communication skills development, and working towards personal goals.

It’s important to understand that coaching is not mental health counseling. While coaching can positively impact anxiety, depression, and life satisfaction, coaches never diagnose or treat mental health disorders, provide medical advice, or practice therapy. Coaching is never a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, mental health care, or substance abuse treatment, and it should never be used in place of any form of therapy.

Chad Stuempges

Product Development

Anne was one of the few candidates who had the chutzpah to correct me in her interview. (I was talking through our deployment process, and she pointed out the missing customer validation -- absolutely on-point.) After joining the team she continued to be the voice for smart direction. Anne partnered with our Customer Researcher on our mid-flight ML project. They researched both the problem being solved and the tools being built to solve it. Their resulting course correction was timely. With their evidence and storytelling, the Development team was very glad to have the correction happen as soon as it did.

Danielle Golinski

Product Management Leader

Anne is a passionate, empathetic, rock star Product Manager who truly goes the extra mile with every project she manages. From the very start of her tenure at Wyndham, Anne was an asset to our team and a lightning-fast learner (of our very complex systems, I might add). She is whip smart, takes initiative (her help had single-handedly saved me from working all night on numerous occasions), and has a customer-first mindset, which is so very important in the Hospitality industry. Her attention to detail is impeccable.
